Headliner - Auckland, NZ
You’ve seen her on stage at NZBF before but not like this. Previously she has hosted our shows, and as first winner of the NZ Burlesque Industry Award for Outstanding Career Achievement, now known as a NZ Legend Award, we thought it was time you got to see what she can do with a Burlesque stage.
Miss La Vida – the Princess of Parody – is an award-winning pioneer of New Zealand’s burlesque and cabaret scene, not to mention a highly sought-after MC.
UK born and bred, but Auckland based, she is the first New Zealand Burlesque performer to be chosen for the following events across the globe: North America – the Burlesque Hall of Fame in Las Vegas and the New York Burlesque Festival; Europe – the London Wonderground; and Australasia – the Perth International Burlesque Festival and the Australian Burlesque Festival.
She was the first burlesque Producer in New Zealand to have an international headliner, Angie Pontani, and to create a show in a major theatre, The Auckland Town Hall. She helped bring burlesque into the mainstream through her media presence. She also taught and mentored a generation of burlesque performers who are now international performers and successful producers.
From fabulous full-length shows, bold burlesque acts, marvellous MCing and hot hens parties, any moment spent in Miss La Vida’s presence guarantees loads of laughs with some tantalising twists.
Miss La Vida is a pint-sized force to be reckoned with. And audiences seem to agree, with 2018 seeing her take home at the New Zealand Burlesque Industry Awards the Favourite MC award and the Outstanding Career Achievement award for over a decade of trailblazing.
